Ox Eye Daisy

Naturally wild and charming

Ox Eye Daisy is a small family run nursery business founded in 2007 , based in Cheshire, run by Louise and son Matt.
We specialize in growing and sourcing high quality plants and unique handmade garden goodies with a country garden theme.

Louise started the business in 2007, sourcing plants from local suppliers and selling them at Altrincham market each week. The stall soon became a magnet for locals to gather and buy high quality plants and potted gifts. Matt was studying horticulture at Reasheath college and inputting his knowledge into the business.
In 2013 we had a new addition to the business in the form of a potting shed on wheels, affectionately known as the Daisy Trailer! This formed our unique selling point as we trail her around and display our products from the trailer giving the effect of a garden shed in the middle of the market. As the business grew, it was clear that we needed a lot more space resulting in us finding a small nursery plot to rent in Preston Brook. With polly tunnels, a potting shed and 4 acres of outside land, we were amazed by the space!

Matt then started successfully growing plants from seed and Louise expanded on the potted gifts and handmade garden gifts. We now have a busy annual calender attending artisan markets in the Cheshire area each weekend, County shows and plant fairs from where we have attracted a large following of customers. We have appeared in Cheshire Life magazine numerous times and last year we won the prestegious 'Best in show' award at Simply Cheshire event, Arley Hall.

Matt is a qualified horticulturalist, growing a large selection of ornamental grasses and heavenly garden perennials from seed at our nursery. He stocks all the firm favourites for a beautiful cottage garden, but also hunts out new or unusual varieties to grow. Matt can be found most days down at the nursery, pricking out or nuturing all the plants.

Louise designs and creates inspirational planted gifts and handmade wooden garden goodies for all occasions. We've catered for weddings, garden parties, birthday's and corporate events. When Louise is not out on the road displaying and selling the products, Louise can also be found down at the nursery, designing, potting or painting.
